Olly Moss

these are fantastic and simple work produced by Olly Moss, really simple and cleaver, and if you have seen the film you can work them out quickly. This is an example I want to produce something simple and cleaver. He uses basic shapes rather something detailed and decreative. The colours are also important to these covers they are all back and white and red relating very well to each film. It's amazing how well thought out these books are and you don't need to have a pritty detailed cover to grab the attention of the buyer. Many buyers might reaconise the cover because they have seen the film first and wanted to read the book. for example I watched t Fight Club and then read the book. weirdly I thought the film was better than the book!

These are fantastic cover design and are definitely a lot better than the original book cover.
the texture paper gives it age. It has that penguin style book with the coloured box at the top and using helevetica and the harry potter logo definitely adds to an fantastic quality book cover.

These books are very unique but where made in the 1960's, oddely enought I could see them in modern book store. It does question wheather design has moved on or is it re-used again?
But appart from that they are great books which are very simple and straight to the point.
the lines undeneather the title seprates the the type and the image.
the typography matches the the colour of the image.

Its a freshening style using 2d images and shapes, in just black and white colour.
