Perfume Book Cover Designs

I am have been looking at Perfume book and poster covers. From the films and book covers. They have the same theme of red, death, flesh and smell.

I know lot about the book already and the film. I have a good understanding of the book.

Book Covers

The penguin Book covers very simple and is always recognisable. Not just the logo but as the style of the book cover having a box shape at the top and bottom.

Again this is an Penguin book as well, but instead using illustrative painting. And used simple and calligraphy typography. This has a good contrasts between bold white typography and decorative painting.

The grey and red work well together as a mixture of texture. The information is well constructed with bar codes information and titles.

Film Covers

This is a great image showing smell and the characters love of the smell and touch of the skin. It also looks dark and purvey. Also the way he is hiding in the dark and very visible to his nose. Also how the way the the women's back is presented very white and clean and pure.

The red hair representing the girls character hair and blood and the white skin stands out. Also how the flower is placed where the typography is draws you in.

This is not a perfume cover, But I like how the typography matches with No5 perfume very recognisable and classy which fits with channels design. This could be a the best way of thinking of the book covers that the reader can recognise the story of the book from its colour, style and early the story is.
